Run AnonVPN on Google Chrome OS from Command Line

  1. Download AnonVPN OpenVPN config anonvpn.ovpn file to your chromebook.
  2. Open Terminal mode on chromebook:

  3. At terminal prompt, type: cd ~/Downloads
  4. Verify openvpn ovpn file exists: ls -l anonvpn.ovpn
  5. Run following openvpn command:

    sudo /usr/sbin/openvpn anonvpn.ovpn

    then enter your username and password.

    Please note that your username is prefixed with anonvpn-, then followed by your email address, such as anonvpn-myemail@domain.com.

    You may see an error as: ERROR: Linux route add command failed. You can ignore that error. But you may need to wait a minute before VPN route is established.

  6. To terminate VPN, just type: CTRL + C, then enter: exit twice to leave terminal mode
